Privacy policy

My Estimating Team ("we") writes Xactimate estimates and supplements for contractors, licensed public adjusters and attorneys. This page explains what information we collect through myestimatingteam.com, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, company, email address, phone number (optional) and the type of business you run.
• Claim files you send us: photos, measurement reports, carrier estimates, notes, loss addresses and anything else you upload. These often contain homeowner names and addresses.
• Messages: what you write to us through the website or My Dashboard.
• Billing records: the price and invoice status of each file. We do not store card or bank details on this website.

Signing in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name and email address with us so we can create or open your account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.

How we use it

• To write, deliver and fix your estimates.
• To show your files, status, messages and invoices in My Dashboard.
• To email you about your files (for example when an estimate is ready) and to answer your questions.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your claim files for advertising.

Who can see it

• You see only your own files. Other clients never see your files or your company.
• Only the team members who need a file to write your estimate can see it, and your company details are kept from anyone who doesn't need them.
• Our web host (GoDaddy, servers in North America) stores the website, the database and uploaded files.
• We may share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, and Google's sign-in button from Google, so your browser connects to Google when those load.

How long we keep it and deleting it

We keep your account and files while you use our service. Ask us and we will delete your files once the job is done, or delete your whole account. Copies in our daily backups are removed automatically within 14 days.

Security

The website uses HTTPS encryption. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. Uploaded files are kept outside the public part of the website, and every request is checked so each client can open only their own files.
